Who is this impostor and can they endure this trial? Amidst Gurgaon’s pulse, high-rise MNC offices and the Aravalli’s embrace, a tale of redemption and passion unfolds, crossing limits to find love anew.

My Takeaways

Meenakshi M. Singh’s latest novel, “Cupid @ Corporate,” unfolds a contemporary office romance against the bustling backdrop of Delhi and Gurgaon, shedding light on the complexities of workplace relationships amidst India’s patriarchal society. Suhaani, the resilient protagonist, navigates a tumultuous journey shaped by societal biases starting from her struggle as an unwanted female child, which initially shattered her self-esteem. Despite these challenges, her determination and education lead her to a successful career.

The author vividly portrays the office environment and corporate life with meticulous attention to detail. The narrative brims with relatable moments and situations that enhance the reader’s engagement. Witty humor and heartfelt emotions intertwine seamlessly, especially in Suhaani and Siddharth’s playful banter as they navigate their evolving relationship. The characters, including Suhaani’s flawed yet relatable parents, her ex-boyfriend Kabir, and Siddharth, her office senior turned love interest, are portrayed with depth and authenticity.

Throughout the novel, the author skillfully weaves together themes of friendship, family dynamics, office politics, and romance, while adding a touch of mystery, creating a captivating tapestry that resonates long after the final page.

My Rating

My overall rating for this book is 4/5.

Suhaani’s personal battles, inner conflicts, and eventual triumphs resonated deeply with me. The author begins each chapter with a quote on love which I loved and each chapter title is named after a flower. As an enthusiast of compelling love narratives, I found the conclusion particularly fulfilling.
