Peace: An Offering

When you hear of things that shake your soul
When the worldly ways start taking a toll
When every one you meet is acting a role
When you forget what’s part and whole

Everyone’s fighting daily battles anew
Empathy and kindness wait in the queue
Egos and pride have ballooned huge
Affection for one another remain few

If only we reach out and help each other
Not judge by money, race, or colour 
Equals, we are in the eyes of the creator
Differences created only by the perpetrators

So, lets make an offering for Peace
Thoughts of hatred amongst us cease
We are on this Earth on a short lease
Hate and enmity we should all release

Our actions and words can sow seeds of love
Creating here a world like heaven above
Under the rug let the past bygones be shove
In the sky above, let there be a peaceful dove
